Bone Mineral Density

Bone Mineral Density uses x-rays to measure the amount of calcium and other minerals in bones; it’s used to detect low bone density and diagnose osteoporosis and osteopenia.

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a condition characterized by weakened bones and the deterioration of bone tissue, and it often leads to a greater risk of fractures. BMD tests are important for those at risk of developing osteoporosis, as this condition does not typically exhibit any signs or symptoms.
